Law enforcement authorities are currently investigating a drive-by shooting incident in a neighborhood located in southwest Miami-Dade, which tragically resulted in the death of a man on Thursday afternoon.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2 p.m. in the 11300 block of Southwest 216th Street.

Miami-Dade Police officials stated that officers were dispatched to the area following the receipt of a ShotSpotter gunshot detection alert.

Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the man deceased at the scene, although.

Aerial footage depicted the man’s body covered by a yellow tarp beside a silver SUV.

Authorities suspect the man fell victim to a drive-by shooting; however, they have no leads regarding the vehicle or potential suspects.

The shooting is currently the subject of an ongoing investigation.
