17-year-old Camron McGlothen and 18-year-old Reginald Smart killed in a “targeted” shooting at Hermitage Flat Apartments

After the victims were incapacitated, the suspects fled the apartment complex.

Officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that targeted two teenagers on Saturday afternoon.

The victims, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old male, sustained multiple gunshot wounds while they were standing near the breezeway of a building at Hermitage Flat Apartments on Old Hickory Boulevard.

Upon arrival at the complex at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, officers from the Hermitage Precinct found both young men lying on the ground.

Unfortunately, the 18-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the 17-year-old passed away shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The 17-year-old victim has been identified as Camron McGlothen and 18-year-old victim has been identified as Reginald Smart.

Investigators suspect the involvement of three individuals in the incident. One of the suspects wore a ski mask when they approached the victims.

After the victims were incapacitated, the suspects fled the apartment complex.
