19-year-old Eric Garcia killed after shooting at a gas station in Lubbock
The suspect, who remained at the scene, was apprehended and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on unrelated charges without resistance.
Lubbock police report a fatality and an arrest following a shooting at a gas station in the 1600 block of 19th Street on Thursday evening.
Responding to the call around 5 p.m., officers discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Identified as 19-year-old Eric Garcia, he was transported to University Medical Center by ambulance, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Initial investigations suggest that Garcia was engaged in a parking lot altercation with a suspect, during which the suspect shot Garcia.
The suspect, who remained at the scene, was apprehended and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on unrelated charges without resistance.
The investigation is ongoing.
