2-year-old Kahlil Adams killed in Covington shooting, police searching for mother

Authorities are currently in pursuit of the mother of a 2-year-old boy who was tragically shot and killed in Covington on Monday afternoon. Selena Farrell, 23, is wanted for violating probation, according to Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders, and the police seek to interview her regarding the shooting.

The post from the attorney’s office mentioned that she fled the scene before law enforcement arrived and did not appear at the hospital.

It was emphasized that she is not believed to be the shooter.

The incident occurred on Monday when police responded to the 2500 block of Warren Street just before 1 p.m. following a report of a child being shot, as per Covington police.

On Tuesday morning, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified the boy as Kahlil Adams from Covington.

According to officials, the child was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

While police are conducting an investigation, they have not disclosed any details regarding the circumstances of how the child was shot.

According to a statement from the department, officers are of the belief that there is no imminent threat to the public.
