Arrest warrant issued for Pearland Cole’s Antique Village & Flea Market shooting suspect David Negrete

The shooter has not been apprehended immediately, and officials stated that the circumstances leading up to the shooting are unclear.

Update: On Sunday, November 12, 2023, at approximately 5:34 P.M., Pearland Police Officers were dispatched to Cole’s Flea Market at 1014 North Main, Pearland, Brazoria County, Texas, 77581 in reference to shots fired.

Upon arrival, five shooting victims, a 10 year old Hispanic male, 14 year old Hispanic female, 37 year old Hispanic male, 16 year old Hispanic male, and 18 year old Hispanic male, were located and transported to nearby hospitals.

One of the victims, the 10 year old Hispanic male, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Preliminary investigations have revealed two Hispanic male subjects were involved in an altercation at the flea market resulting in shots being fired. At least two handguns were fired during the altercation and the number of rounds fired is still to be determined.

The 10 year old male, 14 year old female, and 37 year old male victims are innocent bystanders in the shooting. Investigators are still working to determine the involvement of the 16 year old and 18 year old.

At this time, there is an active arrest warrant issued for David Negrete (3/10/2004) for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Mr. Negrete should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Mr. Negrete’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Pearland Police Department Tip Line 281-997-5828 or Brazoria County Crime Stoppers 1-800-460-2222. A $15,000.00 reward has been issued in conjunction between Governor Greg Abbott’s Office and Brazoria County Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and capture of Mr. Negrete.

On Sunday, November 12, 2023 at approximately 5:34 P.M., Pearland Police Officers were dispatched to Cole’s Flea Market at 1014 North Main, Pearland, Brazoria County, Texas, 77581 in reference to shots fired.

Upon arrival, five victims were discovered and transported to nearby hospitals.

According to Pearland PD Public Information Officer Chad Rogers, an altercation erupted between two individuals, resulting in gunfire.

Investigators are uncertain whether one or both of the individuals engaged in the argument were armed and discharged shots.

The police indicated that the incident did not appear to be a targeted attack and was deemed an isolated occurrence involving those participating in the argument.

Among the victims, consisting of two children and three adults, all were transported to hospitals for medical attention. During Pearland police’s 8:30 p.m. update on Sunday, the conditions of the victims were not disclosed.

However, by 9:30 p.m., the police confirmed the unfortunate death of one of the children.

As of 8:45 p.m., no arrests had been made, as reported by Rogers. The police’s knowledge of the identities of those involved in the argument leading to the shooting remains unknown.
