3 injured after shooting at Novo Brazil Brewing in Otay Ranch Town Center, suspect at large
As at the time of this report, there has been neither confirmation nor identification of any victims.
On Saturday night, at approximately 7:16 p.m., Chula Vista police responded to reports of gunshots at Novo Brazil Brewing within the Otay Ranch mall.
They discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds, all of which were non-life threatening.
Authorities have stated that this incident does not qualify as an active shooter situation and it was not a random act.
Allegedly, two groups of individuals were involved at the time of the shooting.
The investigation is currently underway, and as per Chula Vista police Sgt. Anthony Molina, the Otay Ranch Center is not under lockdown.
Additionally, there is no indication at this time to suggest that this incident is linked to a hate crime or terrorism.
Although no suspects are currently in custody, authorities have stated that there is no perceived active threat to the community.
