On Monday night, the Villages Public Safety Department responded to a call where 19-year-old Alexis Shyanne Caldwell, a resident of Summerfield, sustained minor abrasions while attempting to escape from 22-year-old Felicia Dawn Williamson.

According to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson, who lists The Villages as her home, was involved in the incident.

Caldwell informed deputies that Williamson “initiated a forceful physical attack, striking her with a closed fist around her face and chest.”

Despite Caldwell’s smaller stature at 5 feet 1 inch and 100 pounds compared to Williamson’s 5 feet 8 inches and 125 pounds, she managed to break free.

Seeking refuge in a bedroom, Caldwell eventually resorted to jumping out of a window to escape.

This resulted in a scratch on her nose and face, as well as a wrist injury.

Williamson asserted that Caldwell had instigated the altercation by pushing her to the ground. Williamson further alleged that she sustained rug burns as a result.

The report indicated that both individuals “acknowledged being under the influence,” a fact that was apparent during their conversation with the deputy.

Consequently, Caldwell and Williamson were taken into custody on battery charges and were initially held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
