18-year-old Marquese Simmons shot and killed in Chicago
CPD does not have any suspects in custody, as detectives from Area 2 are conducting the investigation.
On Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, Chicago Police were dispatched following a Shot Spotter Alert and reports of a person shot at 81st & Ellis.
Upon arrival, they discovered Marquese on the street with several gunshot injuries to his body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the Chicago Police Department, Marquese was in the street when a black Dodge Charger approached.
Three male individuals exited the vehicle and discharged multiple rounds at him. They then fled southbound on Ellis.
At this time, CPD does not have any suspects in custody, as detectives from Area 2 are conducting the investigation.
