Jonathan Jennings Elementary School on lockdown after potential threat

On Thursday, August 31st, 2023, around 1:00 pm, the Charlestown City Police Department received a call to Jonathan Jennings Elementary School regarding information about a possible threat.

In response, officers arrived and conducted an investigation, prompting the school to initiate a lockdown according to protocol.

After confirming that there was no real danger to the school and its students, normal class activities resumed.
